FABA 5th Annual Golf Tournament

We are inviting you to participate in the 5th Annual FABA Golf Tournament, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at the Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland. This will be our first year at this extraordinary Nicklaus Design course – the only one in all of Los Angeles   County! All the proceeds from this event will go to support the men and women of the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Station, and the community they serve.

The Foothill Area Booster Association (FABA) was founded, and organized, by residents and businesses located within the Foothill Station boundaries in 1986. Their mission was, and continues to be, to provide financial and other support to the Foothill Area L.A.P.D. through programs that improve the level of police service to the community, involve and inspire youth, educate businesses and residents in crime prevention, and promote overall better communication and participation between police officers and the Foothill community.

Since its inception, FABA has, with the help of officers, cadets, and volunteers, refurbished several areas of the station including the roll-call room, exercise room, and the break room. We have participated in the Thanksgiving and Christmas programs that directly benefit the children in the community. We have proudly supported our officers in the famous Baker to Vegas Annual Run, which, we are happy to say, was won by the Foothill Station officers last year.

We have pooled our resources and allocated funds to  supply equipment that assists officers in their duties, but may be a low priority in the “official supply chain”. We have purchased ladders for surveillance and investigation, tac lights for equipment, and privacy screens for crime scenes, just to name a few. FABA has paid for specialized training for officers specific to their particular assignments.
